20-year-old Emma Roberts in the April 2011 issue of Women's Health magazine. Roberts credits her mother for a healthy outlook on staying fit, saying, "When I was younger, I would eat whatever I wanted. My mom told me to eat healthier, not for the outside, but for the inside. A lot of women feel like they have to eat healthy to be skinny, but for me, it's not about that."
Looking pretty in an Elizabeth and James dress, Emma Roberts talked to the magazine of her passion for pole dancing: "I started taking [pole dancing] classes with friends as a way to both work out and hang out. You don't realize how much upper-body strength you need. It's also a good way to build confidence."
A poised and beautiful young adult, Emma had beauty issues in her teens like a unibrow, prominent teeth, and pimples, which is why she can relate to girls as spokesperson of beauty brand Neutrogena. "Even if I get home late and I'm tired, I always wash my face [before going to bed]. There's nothing worse than waking up with makeup on! I'm one of the faces of Neutrogena, so I try all their products. My favorites are their Oil-Free Acne Wash and Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. I also wear a moisturizer with SPF and do a deep-cleansing mask once or twice a week."
Emma has been acting since she was nine and is the niece of Julia Roberts. Her first movie was Blow with Johnny Depp. On family connections opening doors for her in Hollywood, Roberts tells WWD: "People that like my family will have an interest in me or want to meet me, but at the same time, people who don't like my family are like, 'We don't even want to meet her.' It works both ways. I'm my own person, and am trying to carve out a career on my own."
Known more for teen flicks like Nancy Drew, Aquamarine and Hotel For Dogs, Emma Roberts has been transitioning to more adult roles. Emma will next appear on screen in Homework with Freddie Highmore and Scream 4 with Hayden Panettiere; she recently landed the lead role in coming-of-age drama Adult World.
